Intellectuality Or Intellectual Pollution...?

India :

India is full of intellectual properties; there are so many intellectuals in the country. We can devide intellectuals into two parts, first before the independence and second is after the independence. First let us see pre-independence itellectuals. There are so many kind of intellectuals, personalities who led the Indian mind they were related with politics, lietreture, spiritualism and others such as Mahatma Gandhi, Bankim Chandra Chaterjee, Aurobindo Ghosh, Swami Vivekanand, Swami Dayanand, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Gopal Krishna Gokhle etc, it’s a long list but most of them were involved in politics or social volenteers, they involved in active politics, handling men, walking on the road, addressing meetings, solving problems between their followers. And, meeting the challenges posed by the enemy, the conspiracies hatched against them. They were handling everything, yet, they were maintaining an intellectual supremacy, and an originality which history has recorded.

They all were highly inspired with Indian culture, spiritualism, Hinduasim. Swami Vivekananda spoke of spiritual nationalism; Universal brotherhood, it was the same Swami who introduced the hindu religion at global stage, Mahatma Gandhi spoke of Rama Rajya for India and always says Hey ram, his last word was the same. Bankim Chandra wrote the Bande Maataram, the song, the slogan, the mantra and the soul of the Indian freedom movement for the freedom fighters. Sri Aurobindo spoke of Sanatana Dharma as the nationalism of India. He didn’t rank it as a philosophy. He brought it down to the level of emotional consciousness. For them philosophy was not removed from the ground reality. The nation was at the core of their philosophy.

This was the intellectual scene, this was the content. This is what powered the intellectual as well as the mass movement in India at that time.

And now, come to the position today or after the independence, first let us see the mentality of our first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru was in jail for 7 years. He was a great intellectual, purely in the sense of his capacity to reason, understand, read, and expound a thought. He told Galbraith once, “I would be regarded as the last English Prime Minister of India.” See the intellectual capability of the man, the enormously competent mind.

Today’s intellectuals are highly influenced with western culture, languages, history etc. They projected India as an uncivilized country, as a full problems. They feel shame discuss about Indian development, they feel proud about the discussion of slum, gutter. They feel and projecting everything that drove the freedom movement - everything that constituted the soul of the freedom movement, whether it is the Ram rajya of Gandhiji or Sanaatana Dharma of Sri Aurobindo or the spiritual patriotism of Vivekananda or the soul stirring Vande Maataram song, came to be regarded not only as unsecular but as sectarian, communal and even as something harmful to the country. If any body discussed about the Indian culture, spiritualism, hinduisam they present to him as a fundamentalist.

If anybody thinks about the nation, have national thoughts, than according to these intellectuals that person is not faithful for the country. Such types of intellectuals are in free India. They are not in touch with the culture but they comments, they are not in touch with society but they comments, they don’t know that what is atmosphere outside of air conditioned room, but they always comment. They are making cartoon of god and goddess then they are civilized and if anybody opposed it then he is uncivilized. Great intellectuality!

Once Macaulay says who formed the Indian education system in British India that “We require an education system in India which will produce a class of interpreters, who will be Indian in colour and Englishmen in taste, opinions and morals.” Such types of intellectuals are the product of Macaulay’s factory.

These kinds of intellectuals are dividing the India, they are dividing our society, they want to demolish the Indian culture, and they are showing a negative image of our country. This type of thinking is full of poison and much harmful for the nation, much dangerous from swine flue, and can say that it is intellectual pollution. There is a law for air pollution, water pollution, and other pollutions but not for such type of pollution.

Can anybody stop such type of intellectual pollution?
